Why cotton changes everything

Traditional weighted blankets use glass beads or polyester fill - materials that trap heat and create noise when you move. The BloomKnit™ weight comes entirely from the cotton itself, hand-knit into a chunky open construction that breathes naturally and stays cool all night. A weighted blanket that finally works for hot sleepers. And it looks beautiful doing it.

A quilted, bead-filled one often will. The beads sit in
sewn pockets between fabric layers, so the blanket works as
an insulator whether you want it to or not.
BloomKnit is an open knit with gaps you can see through, so
air moves rather than collecting. It stays on the bed year
round, including summer, and it was built for people who
overheat at night or wake up with night sweats.

The weight comes from the cotton itself. Chunky open loops hand-knit from cotton, with 100% cotton inside every strand.

on the bedding cycle. The bag keeps the loops from catching on the drum.
Dry flat or tumble dry low, checking between cycles.
Heavier blankets may need two or three low heat cycles to
dry completely. Never hang it while wet.
Many beaded blankets are spot clean or dry clean only, so
check the label on yours.

The main cause of stretching is hanging a wet blanket.
Cotton holds a lot of water, and 15 pounds of dry blanket
is considerably heavier wet. Hanging it puts all that weight on the loops at the top.
Dry it flat, or tumble dry low, and the knit holds its shape. This is the single most important thing in caring for it.
