Care, delivery and warranty

Are there important safety considerations?

All our mattresses meet federal fire safety requirements and contain fire retardant materials that comply with current U.S. Standards. To keep your futon mattress in good condition and ensure safe use:

  • Always place the mattress on a supportive, correctly sized platform or compatible futon frame.
  • Avoid exposing the mattress to open flames, candles, space heaters, or smoking materials.
  • Keep the mattress clean and dry, moisture and spills can affect both comfort and longevity.
  • Only use the mattress indoors as intended and inspect it periodically for signs of excessive wear or damage.
  • Follow the specific care and safety instructions supplied with your mattress to maintain its performance and safety features.

Do you offer an organic futon mattress?

Yes. The BloomRest™ Organic Cotton & Wool 8-Inch Futon Mattress is made with certified organic American grown cotton, a needle-punched organic wool fire barrier and an organic cotton twill cover. It has a medium feel and comes in Twin, Full, Queen and King.

Which futon mattress has no foam?

The BloomRest™ Organic Cotton & Wool is our foam-free option, made with organic cotton and organic wool only, and no chemical fire retardants.

Does the mattress meet fire safety standards?

Yes. Each mattress meets California flammability requirements (CA 117) to help ensure safety in your home. In addition, all foam used is CertiPUR-US® certified, meaning it’s made without harmful chemicals and meets rigorous standards for indoor air quality.
The BloomRest™ Organic Cotton & Wool contains no foam and uses a needle-punched organic wool fire barrier instead of chemical fire retardants.

Will the mattress arrive at its full size?

Some mattresses may be compressed for packing and transportation. The mattress can initially appear flatter or slightly smaller than expected. Place it on a clean, supportive surface and allow approximately one to two weeks for the cotton and foam layers to expand and settle.

Flipping and Rotating Guidelines

For optimal comfort and longevity, we recommend flipping or rotating your futon mattress every 3 to 4 weeks. Regularly turning the mattress helps maintain even wear, ensuring lasting support from the encased coil system and super-soft foam layers. This simple routine keeps your sleep surface feeling consistently comfortable over time.

What warranty is included?

Mattresses include a Gold Bond manufacturer’s warranty. The warranty period varies by model. Please review the individual product page for the applicable warranty length and coverage details.

Can I use these mattresses every night?

The BloomRest™ collection includes substantial 8-inch mattresses designed for both flexible daytime use and overnight sleeping. The best option depends on whether you prefer firmer wool cushioning, softer memory foam contouring or responsive encased-coil support.

Care and Cleaning

To keep your futon mattress in great condition, follow these simple care tips:

  • Rotation: Rotate and flip the mattress every month or two to help maintain even wear and support. This is especially helpful for tufted futon mattresses, which naturally compress and settle with use.
This is especially helpful for tufted futon mattresses like the BloomRest™ Organic Cotton & Wool, which naturally compress and settle with use.
  • Vacuuming: Use a vacuum with an upholstery attachment to remove dust and debris from the surface. Regular vacuuming can help keep cotton batting and foam layers fresh.
  • Spot Cleaning: For minor spills, blot the affected area immediately with a clean, dry cloth. Use a small amount of mild soap and cold water if needed, never saturate the mattress. Avoid harsh cleaners or solvents.
  • Drying: If the mattress becomes damp, air it out in a well-ventilated room. Do not use direct heat sources such as hair dryers or heaters, as this can damage internal materials.
  • Protection: Consider using a removable and washable mattress cover to protect against stains and moisture. Mattress protectors are especially recommended if the futon will be used for sleeping regularly.

Always keep the futon mattress indoors in a dry, climate-controlled space. Proper care will help maintain comfort, support, and appearance for years to come.
